HAPPY JUNETEENTH

Happy Juneteenth! Today, we pause to reflect on the importance of Juneteenth in our nation's history. Our past has been marked by difficult and oppressive experiences. Juneteenth commemorates the day when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were informed of their freedom. The struggle for freedom has been a continuous duty for us since our arrival in this country. Figures like Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, and many others taught us to persevere in this fight. As we celebrate this day, we must remember our ongoing responsibility to pursue equality and justice.  Juneteenth reminds us of our duty to advocate for the marginalized and champion their cause through faith, hope, and charity. Let's be the change we wish to see in the world. Happy Juneteenth!!  Blessings, MAE
